Picnic like The Schumacher Grist Family

Meet Emma & CJ!
Perth, WA
Production Supervisor & Service Technician

Starting out on opposite sides of the world, Emma grew up across Australia, from Tom Price WA to Cobar NSW, Parkes NSW and onto Brisbane QLD. CJ on the other hand was born and bred in Bristol, UK before moving to Australia. If not for a chance meeting in 2019, attending the Formula One in Singapore, this pair may have never crossed paths - even though they lived a mere 10mins apart back in Perth. The rest, they say, is history!

Since welcoming their adorable son Carter in August this year, they are now a family of 4 along with their first born, Rocca the Frenchie. By day, Emma is a Production Supervisor for Rio Tinto in the Pilbara and CJ is a Service Technician in Perth. During their downtime (as a couple and now as a family), they love to travel and explore, usually with a good glass of wine or a craft beer in hand.

When heading out for relaxation or to explore, their picnic must haves include:
- Sparkling Rose: Moet and Chandon Rosé or ‘Its not my fault I like bubbles’ by
   Lansdowne Wines
- A good beer: They are loving anything from Rocky Ridge Brewing or Gwei Lo
- Good quality chocolate coated pretzels or chocolate coated peanut brittle - we
   love Margaret River Chocolate Co
- Blue cheese. Always.
- Good tunes from Elton John, Queen, Phil Collins or The Beatles
- A gorgeous picnic rug (like one from Five Hearts - they've recently purchased
our 'Love Lost' throw) and a portable picnic table, theirs is from Maison and
   Maison.

With so many stunning locations to explore around Western Australia, a few of their absolute favourite locations to picnic include:
- Lake Monger (West Leederville, WA)
- Hamersley Pool at sunset (North Beach, WA)
- Cable Beach (Broome, WA)
- Turquoise Bay (Exmouth, WA)
- Kalbarri National Park (Kalbarri, WA)

When asked if they could picnic anywhere in the world, where would it be Emma answered:

"St Ives, Cornwall. Cornwall is close to Bristol where CJ originates from. We haven't been able to travel to the UK yet as a family due to COVID but we're hoping we can be there in July 2022 for UK summer. A picnic with CJ's family in St Ives would be magical after the chaos of 2020 and 2021!"
