Picnic like Damia

Meet Damia!
31
Brisbane
Manager at Coco & Pastel Hair Salon

Damia grew up in Murwillumbah, a small country town in northern NSW. At a young age she discovered her passion for dancing and always loved having music around her. At 19, she started a band with her brother and performed gigs throughout venues in Brisbane for 4 years. During that time she met and fell in love her now husband, Sal. Once Damia fell pregnant with her son, she could no longer hold her bass guitar properly, so she made the sad decision to sell it and hasn't played since. A couple of years later, Damia and Sal added a little girl to their family of 4 (well 5, because you can't leave out their 1st born, a cat named Nicoletta). She continues to have a strong passion for music and performing, now enjoying exposing her children to classic songs from the 80's and 90's.

Damia spends her weekdays juggling mum life and work life, managing an amazing hair salon, Coco & Pastel, in Coorparoo. She loves that her days are spent in a beautiful space, surrounded by strong empowered women. On the weekends though, she loves nothing more than to spend time with her husband and kids, escaping outdoors whenever possible. A fun fact about Damia is that she has never eaten meat or fish before, but you better believe her food is some of the best!

When heading out with the family some of her picnic must haves include:
- Salad sandwiches
- Fresh berries
- A bottle of chilled of Pinot Grigio for Damia and a Pinot Noir for Sal
- Picnic blanket (one from Five Hearts of course)
- and last but certainly not least, MUSIC! Think a bit of Radiohead, Jungle Giants, Beck, Pixies...

Some of her favourite spots to picnic and spend time as a family on the weekend include:
- Coolangatta for some sand, waves and salty air
- Kangaroo Point (views of Brisbane CBD)

If Damia could roll out a Five Hearts throw anywhere in the world to picnic it would be?
On the lawn in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, again! She vividly recalls the picnic her and Sal had on a perfect Summer’s day in August with all the French must haves - the 3 B's - Brie, Baguette & a Bottle of wine.
