Fun DIY Gift Ideas for V-Day

Fun DIY Gift Ideas for V-Day

If you're not big on celebrating Valentines Day or have a small budget to work with, a thoughtful and creative gift made with heart is always a winner.

Here are 5 of our fav DIY Gifts for your lover or just someone special in your life:

  1. Coupon Book: Create a book of vouchers/coupons for things like a cooking their favourite meal, a day of pampering, performing a helpful task or a date of their choice. Your options with this gift are endless and can even be a cute digital gift to create for long distant relationships. Check out Canva for cute templates. Friend option: Make a single voucher/coupon for babysitting, to take to brunch, pedicure date etc.

  2. Personalised Photo Album: Collect and print out some of your favourite memories together either in a scrapbook or buy a super chic album from Bloom Store. Friend option: Simply buy them an album & start them off with one or two photos and let them fill in the rest.

  3. Handwritten Letter: Write a sweet and heartfelt letter to your significant other, expressing your love and appreciation. We often don't spend the time to do things like this and they are great to have and read back on down the track. Pick up some beautiful paper to make it that much more special from Officeworks or an amazing small business like The Memoir Collective. Friend option: Do the same or send a heartfelt message reminding them of what makes them special, unique and why you value your friendship.

  4. Candles or Massage oils: These are items you can make yourself with so many 'recipe/how to' options online or simply purchase both and set the scene for a romantic massage. I love this body oil from The Calm Society (check out their bath soaks too!). Set the vibe with music and why not include a bottle of bubbles for you both to enjoy? Friend option: A candle from Elula Home and a cute card is always welcomed in my opinion but what I love even more, a cheeky bottle of bubbles!

  5. Framed Art: Create a piece of art using materials like paint, paper, fabric or even scrabble pieces to represent your love story. Not overly creative? Why not type up a meaningful quote or poem to have printed and framed. You could even check Etsy for cheap downloads to purchase and print yourself. Friend option: You could consider other options like a horoscope printable to frame or put brush to canvas and create some magic.

If you've left it to last minute, cook up their favourite meal or get takeaway, lay out a picnic throw in your lounge, backyard or head out somewhere for a bit of fresh air and just spend time together. Phones down and focus on connection.

At the end of the day, the key to the best DIY gift is to create and give from the heart !

Remember, even if you don't have someone to celebrate V-Day with - you matter. You are loved.
Big love,
