Featured guest: Rach - Western Australia

Rach shares with us one of her favourite destinations on her adventures, as she explores her own backyard across Western Australia and abroad.

DESTINATION: JURASSIC WORLD

My trip to Christmas Island was the epitome of seizing the moment. With a spontaneous decision to book flights, I found myself stepping off the plane into a scene from Jurassic Park – minus the dinosaurs (although some of the crabs were questionable!) 

From the moment I arrived, Christmas Island captivated me with its natural beauty. I snorkelled for hours in waters so clear it seemed unreal, surrounded by vibrant marine life. I hiked through thick jungle, following tracks that led me to hidden beaches that felt untouched by time, each corner of the island revealing a new marvel of nature.

One of my favourite moments was laying out my ‘Coming Home’ throw on a secluded beach, watching waves crash against rugged cliffs, covered in lush greenery. Overhead, birds soared against the backdrop of the blue sky – I simply sat there and soaked in the beauty of it all. 

Every day was packed with adventures that left me in awe, and I am so glad I embraced the spontaneous decision of booking those flights.
